Default Gaining weight on low carb

My friend is very skinny. As I can see he cannot tolerate carbs very well. He seems to be hypoglycemic. He asked me if he can gain weight on a low carb plan.

Anybody managed to fix "underweight" problem on a low carb diet ?

There are lots of weight lifting sites that give steps to gaining weight. Lots of men have that problem.

Even if he doesn't gain weight, it sounds like low carb may be the way for him! He should try it and see.

If he hasn't been eating enough protein, it's possible he will gain muscle mass, especially in combination with weight training as MsJinx mentioned.

Atkins published a book in 1977 called Dr. Atkins Super Energy Diet. One of the chapters deals with getting to a healthy weight if you are underweight. The details are very much the same as the Schwarzbein Principle. Your friend may want to start off regaining his health by reading The Schwarzbein Principle.

Thanks very much for replies.
I thought that he shouldn't go too low with carbs so The Schwarzbein Principle is probably a good choice.
