Question ediets.com Atkins

I've read some threads where people were interested in ediets.com Atkins... Just curious if anyone joined and if so, how is it and do you like it

Is it conducive to Atkins induction or a waste of money

TIA

I did ediets almost two years ago (not anything to do with Atkins though) and to me it was a waste of money. I used the message boards a little bit, but I get that kind of support here. I already know what I need to eat and not eat and that sort of thing, so I guess I feel that ediets can't offer me anything this board and countless other free boards like it can.

Just my two cents...maybe they have added things since I was last there though...

Whyspers - I was on e-diets about 2 years ago, too. I tried it for a year and although I appreciated getting the weekly meal plan, I rarely followed it. I stayed because I loved the message boards. I had a great group of buddies on that thread. We came though the 9/11 crisis together. One of the women lived just blocks from the Trade Center buildings. I feel incredibly lucky to have found this site which allows me the same type of support without charging me $10.00 a month!

When I tried ediets a couple years back, I didn't see an Atkins option. I didn't lose the "10 lbs by" whatever the date was and I didn't really use the boards etc enough to justify the fees.

I signed up for the ediets Atkins thing a couple of weeks ago ... at this point I think it is a major waste of money, unless you are going to use the recipes they assign to you.

I usually do very simple meals - eggs, beef, etc... it won't let me choose those things, only the preloaded meals. At this point I think Fitday is more useful.

Thank you all for your comments I was just curious about it and from the website it looked like a waste of money. This website and fitday are awesome and I'll stick with those.
Thanks again

I think eDiets is good for someone wanting something to help them jump in and make sure to be doing things right without much hassel - shopping lists are great if you feel overwhelmed.

I'm not too pleased with the staff or with Induction menus including $8.99 per loaf Atkins bread with no alternatives listed. It really doesn't give you enough information to make informed choices. For instance, I don't like celery. A half cup is listed - it's supposed to be a link to somewhere but it doesn't work so, how many carbs in celery - back to fitday. If I'm paying, I'd like to not have to use fitday to double check everything.

The good part is that it is at least possible to choose meals without "products." The recipes seem simple and good. Overall calorie count for meals, including fat, protein, etc. is nice. So, that's my take. Also, IMO, this board is much better than eDiets.

If you NEED eDiets - plonk down the dough. Nothing wrong wit dat.
