Default Carb gram counter

I have noticed some differences in the carb counts of some foods and wanted to now if I go by what the label says or by what Atkin's says the carbs are. Example: Walnuts. The bag says Carbs 3 Fiber 3 for 1/4 cup which = 0 net carbs. Atkin's says there is 0.9 ECC for 2 tbs of walnut halves (which is what I bought).

So which should I go by?

Lisa

Sometimes manufacturers pre-subtract the fiber for you.

What they mean is: Walnuts 6 carbs, 3 fiber = 3 net carbs. No nuts have 0 carbs.

You can use the USDA carb counter on this site or you can buy Corrine Netzer's book, or you can use www.fitday.com

Hope this helps.
