Default liposuction anyone?

I am planning on having my thighs sucked and a tummy tuck. It has always been in the back of my mind, and now it will happen after 15- 20 more pounds disappear. Are there any stories out there? I am not sure if I need to lose all the weight b4 I talk to a plastic surgeon.

Hi,

I'm just curious. If you are losing on this WOE then why would you risk your life with surgery? Can't you just keep up what you're doing and loose it the hard way? I was just wondering why you would consider this.

After 4 kids and one abdominal hysterectomy my muscles are shot. My inner knees have always been fat. Even when I was down to a size 8 ( read size 4-6 ) 25 years ago. If a miracle happens and after losing more weight these areas look great then I will be happy and no surgery.

I just recently saw an artical on this, and what it basically said was, that after a while, where you've had the Lipo done, those areas are the first to put fat back on, that lots of exercise on a regular basic can be helpful, but, it's not the B all End All it's made out to be, for all the $$$$.
It can come back, faster, then when you fall off the wagon on any diet.
Something to think about, and of course the Dr.'s never tell you about that part.

That article wasn't accurate.
The fat won't come back, faster, on only the areas that you had lipo on. And, chances are good that if you are careful about your eating/exercising (which a lot of people are after spending the $$ on cosmetic surgery), it won't ever come back. Some parts of your body will never respond to weight loss efforts, and will hang with you unless you become dramatically too thin for your body-like saddle-bags, and fat pads on the inner knees. Before my 2 kids, I was a size 2 or 4 depending on designer and 17% body fat. I still had fat inner knees and saddle-bags, they were just smaller. I actually was scheduled for lipo on my saddle-bags, inner thighs and inner knees when I found I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I still plan on having it done when she is old enough for me to be away from her for a night.
As for the tummy tuck, hanging skin from pregnancies and surgeries are another thing that won't always respond to weight-loss efforts. I think it's great that you're having done what you want to have done to feel good about your body. A lot of people will disagree with our opinion on this, but it's your body and if you want to do it to feel better about yourself, I say Good for You!

Default I wish I could afford it

If I could, I'd probably consider having it done too.

But~ there's no way I could ever have enough $$$.

Good luck to you if you decide to do it.

I agree. I think there will always be those areas where you will never lose the fat or end up being out of proportion to the rest of your body.

I don't know that I will ever get lipo done (don't know that I won't either) but my tummy from having kids and gaining the weight then losing the weight has a lot of extra skin. I will probably get that removed and tucked eventually.

I have this flap of skin that hangs around my mid section. Even my Dr. said that it will not go back to normal, all the weight loss, Two twin pregnancies, and my age (loss of elasticity) would probably make it impossible

I have stretch marks an inch wide in my stomach area. I do not need lipo, but just the tuck...I am hoping someday I can get it done.
