Default My first venture to TDC

Hi

This is my first venture to the Triple Digits Club. While I wish NONE of us had to be here, I am really happy that there are others who have as much to lose as I think we understand the problems that go along with obesity better than someone who only has to lose 10 or 20 lbs.

Anyways, I am hoping to lose a total of 117. Wow is that a hard on to say!!! I have lost 33 so far, which is soooooooooooooo exciting for me. I have been on Atkins since 20 Jan 03 and I swear this is the longest I have stuck to anything in the last 20 years! My clothes are getting too big, especially my uniforms for work. What a great feeling!

Unfortunately I have been in a stall. I have not lost a thing in the last 2 weeks (2 weeks today exactly when I was down the last 2 lbs). I know it will pass but still ... however I do feel better and thinks perhaps I have lost a bit in inches instead and I feel like I am still losing. I really wish I had taken measurements when I started, but I didn't even think of it at the time! Perhaps I will start that today so I can check every month or so.

Anyways, enough ramblings. I intend to come in here everyday for support!! I love reading all the other posts as well. Any words of wisdom will be most appreciated

Hi,

Just wanted to tell you not to be to concerned about the scale, if your clothes are continuing to get loose then your still on target. I sometimes go a week with no weight lose but will have an inch loss in my waist etc. So keep up the good work, put the scale away for a while and you'll be much happier. Check out peoples journals for tips etc. You'll find other people have very similair experiences. Have a great day.

Thanks for the encouragement Tanya!

I took my measurements this morning and recorded them in my little book. Does anyone have any suggestions how often I should take them? Once a month maybe?

I just came back from a walk and feel better already. I even shortened my time a bit so I know I am walking faster!

For women, it is recommended to measure yourself once a month at the same time of day and the same time in your cycle.

FYI - a stall is four weeks of no weight or inches lost and you haven't even come close!

Keep on keepin on....

Hey! I too am trying, wait, WILL lose 117 lbs. I have been doing this since 1/2/03 and have lost 31.5 lbs, so we are pretty similar although you are beating me a bit! Should make you feel not so bad about your stall! You are doing excellent!

Stop by my journal some time and I will do the same!

Amy

Welcome Jane. 33 pounds in less than three months is excellent progress. It's inevitable that your weight loss will slow down as you continue with this way of eating. Your body needs to get used to its current weight before you can lose more. Hang in there and you will start losing again!
