Default Fat Fast Results

Yesterday was day 5 of the FF. Atkins recommends 4 or 5 days.

As of yesterday morning I had lost 4 pounds in 4 days. HOWEVER, yesterday evening I decided I was finished with FF and had meat and vegies for supper - nothing "illegal".

Here's what surprises me, this morning I had gained back 2 of the 4 lost pounds.....I didn't drink as much water yesterday as I've been drinking. Go figure - I don't get it. Take a look at my Fitday food section - the fat was lower yesterday and protein was up a bit. Carbs about the same.

I have NO IDEA. I do know that today I am beginning the Modified FF, according to the book. At least it offers some meat and eggs.

I'm not sure but I think the ff is just a test of sorts to see if one is insulin resistant. I also did the ff and actually lost 12lbs, gained every lb of it back when I got back to the induction level of the diet (actually gained it all back within a week)

You can't lose four pounds of fat in four days unless you are a super athlete. Losing a pound of fat requires burning 3500 more calories than you consume.

Your weight is probably fluctuating because a lot of the changes in your weight are simply changes in the amount of water you are holding. I try to focus on the long-term trend and not the day-to-day fluctuations. My weight fluctuates 2 or 3 pounds up and down all the time.

Gail, I think you may be confusing Dr. Atkins Fat Fast for metabolic resistance with Louise Gittleman's Fat Flush Plan?

Sookie68, this is generally the results in people who do the fat fast. The four pounds lost and 2 pounds gained are water, but the fat fast should have moved you into lipolysis. It's not the way to lose fat, but the way to enter a fat burning state.

Nope, did the ff. The first part is if I remember 5 days then you go on to phase two which lasts a week and then on to induction.

Thanks for your responses. As long as I'm in lipolysis I'm happy.

Gotta go. More later.

I did the fat fast. lost 5 lbs in a week and gained back two the first day I went back to induction. I have stalled since and haven't felt very good. I wonder if I put my body into starvation mode. I think I won't do it again because it made me sick of sausage.

Any weight anyone would lose in such a short time is water and nothing else. Water comes and water goes.
FF is not for losing weight at all, it's a "mega induction" for people who have a high metabolic resistance. FF is not meant for people who can get good results on "normal" induction as Atkins writes here....
