Unhappy a really hard day!

I am having a really hard time today! I want nothing more than a bagel or a bowl of cereal. Last night I was craving a banana split with EVERYTHING on it. This is one of the first times since I started this WOE. I think I'm in trouble. I'm using all of my strength not to cheat, but it's becoming all I think about.

I'll let you know if I succeed and make it through the day without giving in to temptation.

Good luck. It's tough, in the beginning, because junk food gives us so much pleasure. I still fall off the wagon a lot.

For some good "food for thought," check out the Before You Cheat sticky posted by Razzle. I often use those strategies when I'm tempted.

HTH - go enjoy some tasty LC food.

When I get too hungry I find I want FRENCH FRIES! AHHHH! The only way for me to get over it is to eat something high fat or a piece of protein. Seems to help.

Good luck!

Default Thanks

Thanks, so far I ate a few slices of bacon, alot of water, and a big piece of chicken breast. I re-read the section in the Atkins book about cravings, so I tried a few nuts. Finally, I had 1 square of a low carb chocolate bar and that seemed to work. Since the entire bar had only 3.2 grams of carbs, I think it was OK. I'm feeling a little better.

I'm in day 12 of induction, so I'm looking forward to making the Italian sponge cake(from the book) with whipped cream ( my own of course) and a few strawberries next week. It gives me a goal and one I think I can make.

I also just went to buy a pair of pants for a party and trying them on make me definately not want to blow this WOE. That seems to be the best cure of all when you want to cheat!!

I know how you feel. I felt exactly the same way a few days ago. For me it's always like that the week before that time of the month. My saving grace is the low-carb treats--Atkins chips, chocolates and brownies. While I've been told that eating too much of these can stall the diet, I have found that on occasion, when the cravings are just too strong, these are a good alternative to the sugar-laden stuff. Thankfully enough, I didn't surpass my 20 gram carb limit with these products either.

Hang in there! I know that for me, a few days can make such a difference. Today, for example, I don't have any cravings at all!

Good luck!
