Unhappy I need some encouragement

I broke down and weighed today for the first time in 3 wks. I had not lost one pund. I am a little frustraited because I have'nt cheated once and have exercised everyday. I haven't had any LC bars or anything else that should stall me. Just meat, veggies (under 20 carbs), water. Oh I have increased my fat in the form of full fat dressings, butter, olive oil, and mayo. I have lost inches. 11 over all in the last month. So I should be happy right? I just wanted to see even a little loss in weight. I am not going to quit. I do feel great and I have gained alot of muscle from lifting. I and my wife can see it. I just want the stupid scale to reflect the loss too. I gues s this is why i quit weighing in the first place so that i wouldn't feel this way. thanks for your support, it does mean alot.

Jon,
11 inches in one month? WOW!

Check out Mischa's picture in her gym log. It's a 2 month before and after. During that time she only lost one pound, but yowza! You should see the difference. The tape measure is your new best friend! Get rid of the scale (it's a traitor).

Good going on losing those inches!

Just some things you already know, but I want to say them anyway:

You are gaining muscle and that will cause the scale not to move
Inches lost is more important to me than weight lost
I lose either inches or weight but not both at the same time.

I get like that too-when I lose inches and no weight I get upset. When I lose weight and no inches I get upset. Silly, huh?

You are doing well! I bet you see a drop in weight in the next week or so.

11 inches -

As a woman I have only 4 measurements I take (bust - waist- hips - upper thigh) - and those inches have been "stuck" for a while. I am sure you have notices your clothes fitting better!

I am pretty much addicted to the scale. I weigh daily. I have a physician's scale, so love the 1/4 lbs . I weigh each morning (sans my nightie - I just know it must weigh at least 3 pounds )

Hang in there - you are an inspiration to us all.

Thanks for looking at my journal. Did you think my food looked OK?

If you are exercising every day, you need to do different things on a rotation so that your muscles can heal and grow.

The scale does not tell the whole story as I'm sure you've heard by now.

Default exercise

hi beth,

actually what i do is some sort of cardio everyday. walk for an hour, ride exercise bike, do work out dvd. I then lift weights every other day so that my muscles heal. If i am still sore i will put off lifting until i am not.

p.s. Cait thanks, Mishka looks great!.....i think i will go to her journal and tell her what a hottie she is.

Wow Jon 11 inches in a month is GRRRReat. I know the scale was a disapointment. But that's why it's been banished to the closet right - put that device back in solitary confinement.
