I know how you feel. See my post and the responses earlier today. I guess we are all in this together. I'll let you know if something changes for me. I don't intend to give up, will make sure that I eat enough carbs, sometimes I'm not at 20. I hear that water is the key too. Good luck!

SunnySpain...

First....take a deep breath!
You may not be doing anything wrong at all. It's very normal for your weight loss to stop for a week or two after induction. You started out wanting to loose about 35 pounds and you lost almost 10 during induction...that's almost 30% of what you needed to loose which is well above average. After a quick loss like that, your body needs a little time to figure out if everything is okay. Your body doesn't know that you want to loose the fat and is putting on the brakes until it is satisfied that nothing is wrong. If you're following the plan as directed and aren't cutting your calories too low, I'd be willing to bet that in the next week you'll start seeing some losses again. There's no need to panic just yet. Be patient.

Hey Sunny...Lisa is right. Don't panic. Why don't you post your meals in a journal so the veterans can check it out. I found that to be a great help.

Hi Mercedes,

Relax! Your body is just pausing to recover from such a big loss. Low carb weight loss tends to come in "whooshes."

All you need to do is stay on your plan, and more weight loss will come.

Most of us can only expect to lose 10% of the weight we wish to lose during Induction, followed by 5 to 10% per month after that. You lost 31%, which is wonderful! Well done!

Have a look at this site which explains more about whooshes and low carbing.

All the best!

Rosebud

Well, sorry to say, but that is the nature of the diet................. read through other journals and topics and you'll see that what is happening to you is totally normal.
Patience is a must. Do you think this world would be filled with so many overweight people, if any diet in the world, caused you to start losing and never allow your body to pause and adjust to it's new weight?? Losing weight is not easy!
Really, do not panic, I think it's been suggested to you through out this forum before that, this is not a overnight, I want to be thin now, diet, and expect to drop the weight that may of taken years to put on. Really have a good think about it, it has to make sense, does it not?

Good luck Relax, Kathy

Gee we must of all been posting at the same time, lol.

Sunny read this thread http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...&threadid=96428

I wish I could say 10 pounds! I am on Day 4 of Induction and lost 3 pounds my first day - which I am sure was mostly water . Nothing since. I haven't gained, I am in ketosis, and I have worked out 2 of those days, but that scale hasn't budged. I decided I am not going to weigh in until next week or I will drive myself crazy!!

At least I have lots of energy!

Sunny-

I didn't see hardly any veggies in your menu-you might want to add a salad or some other low carb veggies.

Don't stress too much-I didn't lose anything for a while after induction either.

mercedes

Wink this might sound weard but i did happen to me

I did this diet before with great success, at some point i was stuck and not losing no more.

I was taken my fatburners, eating very low carbs 20g a day.

Found out that my thyroid was slow and body temp was too low.

Thoses can be major factors in your fat burning quest.

Test you bodytemp and make sure its around 98 degree, in the morning and evening compare results.

You might have to eat a bit of carb to get things back togheter but after about a week things should be and you will start losing bodyfat again.

Good luck, this diet works its the best so keep at it.

I agree with everyone else. You NEED to eat your vegetables and drink a lot of water.

Keep the faith - it will happen eventually.
