Here's a question for the CAD veterans. I bought some locarb hot cereal (Carbsense). It claimed 3 g of carbs per serving. Upon closer examination there are 15g of carbs, but 12 are fiber. I know that Atkins folks would count this as only 3-but how about us. I have had a single serving-no problems noticed, no cravings, continued weight loss. Thanks.

Wink well...

I don't know if I count as a veteran yet... but here is my take on it. I would be very very wary of it. Although I love the idea of it, and would really like to have something like that to have for breakfast for a change, I would just be worried about insulin reactions. Apparently sometimes insulin can be affected without us feeling any cravings or anything. I just tend to think that if the Hellers didn't put it on the allowable CM list.. then there is a reason for that.

Darn I hate to say that, because it sounds good ...

Oh well, will be interesting to see what the others say.

I wouldn't use it. Carb addicts react to all carbs even if they're fiber. That's why broccoli and nuts aren't allowed on CAD when they're allowed on Atkins.

I agree too. It's better to go by the book. They have done tons of research on thousands of people, so they know what works best.
