The "high" is really the "low" - the low blood sugar. Before your body adjusts to the existance of less blood sugar in your system, it continues to store it with a vengence as fat -- sometimes leaving you with less blood sugar than is required to function "normally".
Some people describe that "high" as a dizzyness, some find it to be a disassociation of sorts, and some find it gives them more energy, and some just describe it as a "high". I had some days where it actually scared me.
Once your body adjusts, it never comes back. At least it didn't with me, and I've been lowcarbing for over 3 years.
The increased energy, however, does stay with you - it's 2 different things, really.
