Default Lo carb in Bangkok

I live in Bangkok, and its pretty difficult to stick to the lo carb lifestyle. Rice and noodles go with everything, as people cannot afford to eat meat all the time. Luckily though, there are hundreds of small barbecue stalls set up all over the city where you can buy chicken legs (and feet, intestines .... etc)

Dairy is not really a big factor in Asian diets, and its very hard to get hold of cheese (though its possible in the more expensive expat stores).

Its also impossible to get hold of this magical ingredient called Splenda, and we have never heard of lo carb substitutes here!!!

Wish me luck as I try to stay carb free

Heather

Hi Heather and Welcome!

I'm a recruiter in the States for an Asian publishing company. I've never been to Thailand (YET!), but I've been awed by my visits to some of the other Asian countries.

I can understand your difficulty in finding LC items, but I would bet that some of the larger on-line stores would ship to Asia. I've used www.vitaglo.com and found them to be very good.

Good luck to you and keep us posted!!
