Default Did I mess up too much?

Hi, I'm half-way through induction, and have been perfect. Last night, however, I went to bed early and woke up a couple of hours later feeling a little jacked up. I tried drinking some more water, but really felt a little shaky (my carbs were really low yesterday). I drank a little less than 1/2 cup orange juice, and it straightened me out. This morning I'm fine.

Did I mess up too much? I've really been drinking a lot of water (and eliminating it); I was in ketosis on the 3rd day, so I feel I'm really burning now. Won't know til Saturday, tho, as I decided not to get on the scales until then.

Probably not a serious problem-but please make sure in the future you get your 20 carbs in. I know it can be hard, but....

I am one of those "night" eaters. I usually have a small snack before bedtime-lc of course!

I don't think that little bit of orange juice "just once" is gonna hurt you. I wouldnt make it a habit though. Eat more salad to get those carbs up.

Next time, perhaps you could just have a few nuts, or a piece of cold chicken instead. You really should avoid sugar. It sounds that you might have had a low blood sugar episode. In most cases, a little bite of a Atkins approved snack, like nuts or some chicken, will quickly resolve that problem.

Good Luck!

I agree with all above - you should try to stay as close to 20 as possible - - I find that 4 small meals alleviate these "shaky" feelings - a little fat at each meal also.

Exclamation Thanks for your help!

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions re my little "boo boo". I didn't think about eating nuts instead of the o.j. (and I have some in the house).

Feel great today. I went swimming at our club with DH and did some laps (first time since fall since DH had a total knee replacement and is still recuperating).

I THINK I'M OVER THE HUMP (hope hope)
