Red face Sugar

Is anybody else unable to give up sugar with their coffee/tea in the morning? I can do everything else in this diet, except lay off the sugar. Has anybody had success with induction, even whilst consuming approx 2 teaspoons sugar per day????
I just cannot use sweeteners - the taste is too awful
Many thanks

Hi Gnasher,

I also had prroblems with sugar in tea, coffee at first. I managed to wean myself off it.

Step one, go to one sugar and one or two sweeteners. Gradually cut out the sugar. I now have coffee with four sweeteners and I can't even remember what sugar tastes like. You get used to sweeteners - really.

Robert,

P.S. experiement with the sweeteners. Some taste better than others.

Hi Gnasher -

Don't know if I could function in the morning without my coffee... so I hear what you are saying. Before LC I used sugar and coffemate in my coffee. Now I use heavy cream and splenda - and I find I love it more than ever! I have found that the splenda has very little (if any) aftertaste. Just a thought......

Good luck finding a substitute!

I used to also have hot chocolate mix in my coffee every morning, sort of a moch mocha! That was a tough one to wean myself off of. I knew I was going to start a few weeks before I actually started (Scott and I wanted to start at the same time and he was out of town for 2 weeks). So I cut out the hot chocolate and put in sugar instead and gradually added less of it every morning. Then when I started LC, I used Splenda in very small amounts b/c I found it very strong & if I used to much, then my coffee tasted bitter. Later on I switched from Splenda to Stevia.

If you have sugar in your system.. you aren't on induction.

Default artificial sweeteners

I would agree that most sweeteners are nasty but have you tried Splenda? It really is just like sugar, IMO. It would be worth a shot to give it a try. You really do have to cut out sugar for this diet to work.
