Default question regarding McDonald's

When we go to McDonald's, I usually get the McChicken and just pull the meat out and eat that. Also, maybe a 4-piece nuggets. Anyone know what the carb count is on these two items? I don't want to be messing up my daily carb intake by thinking these things are okay if they really aren't.
Thanks -

Scott

The breading on them is fairly light, much less than say a full breast slab at KFC.

I don't know the details, but I will guess 2-3 carbs per McNugget?

Ok, with the help aside....

Keep away from McCrap.

This diet is about eating whole natural foods, not about eating some preservative enriched deep fried garbage.

If you have to go there, stick to the grilled chicken sandwich, and pull off that bun ( seems a waste to me ).

4-Piece McNuggets
Calories 210 cals

Wow, thanks for those details. I was almost on the nose there. Just a little short. You can really develop an eye, or built in carb-detector on this diet...hehe

If you pull off all the breading, and you should, you won't have to worry what the carb count is. Assign one carb to it, just for the sake of counting any residue that might be there, and forget it. That breading stuff is garbage anyway.

Good Luck!

When I go to Carl's Jr. I get a double cheeseburger, throw away the bun and MMM MMM good. Last time I asked them to wrap it in lettuce (my husband was sooo embarrassed). I only have this about once a month though.

In-n-Out burger offers "protein burgers" for those of us LCing. They wrap the burger in lettuce for you (with no dirty looks).

Carl's Jr also has a "6 Dollar Burger" that (Actually) cost $4.26 at my area. I find that this is an awesome sized burger, which I weighed and found it to be 6.5-7 ounces! It tastes good too (without the bun).

SCOTTJ- although i know its better to cook at home- if you must eat out ask for a nutrition sheet- YES they are even avail thru drive thru. Some are much better than others- Wendys does a great job- at the bottom it list info on individual ingredients- Taco Bell lists it the way it is served (a little harder to know exactly what's left if you say dont eat the flour tortilla) I have been warned these may conceal hidden carbs but they are still so much better than 'winging , it.

One more bit of advice about fast foot eating...

I can't confirm this but, if you choose to eat at Arby's, I have a strong feeling they suger baste their meat, or something to that effect. I used to eat them when I was going to Grad school for a quick dinner, and it stalled me something fierce.

So no Arby's meat!

Default wow

After checking out the fast-food information site listed above, it is obvious that McDonald's is no place for low-carbers to visit.

Thanks very much for the information!

Scott
