Default What is it about that 2:00 pm hour??

Gosh, regardless of what I eat for breakfast or lunch, when that 2:00 hour rolls around I am HUNGRY for something (usually sweet). If I have a snack like a salad or a slice of turkey, it helps, but it's so weird how hungry I get at that hour. If I get through the hour, however, no more cravings for the rest of the day. Weird??

Not at all.. my friends at work all laugh at me because I have a 3pm feeding daily!

I plan for it.

Today had a cheesesteak w/ fried onions and mushrooms for lunch and got a side salad that I saved for my feeding...

Red face 2:00=Naptime

I used to slip into a slight coma around 2:00 each day....carb overload at lunch (Blimpie's or Chinese food)...I'm thrilled to say I don't have that problem anymore. My hungry time is at 10 a.m. it's like I haven't eaten my yummy Mock Danish or something. I find that if I drink a protien shake around that hungry time, I'm on track for the rest of the day. Check your calorie count, you may not be getting enough calories!

I get hungry too in the afternoon...usually hits me a bit later about 3-4:00. WE eat supper at 5:00 so I hate to have a big snack.

IF you get hungry...then EAT! Grab a protien snack, nothing wrong with that. Feeding your body carbs/sweets at the time of the day (at least for me) is a downward spiral. If I eat carbs mid afternoon, it sets me up for an all night binge. But if I eat a protien snack, I have no problems the rest of the day.

My "2:00" is at 10 am (I am up at 5:30 a.m. and eat breakfast around 7:30 a.m.) so I make sure I have something legal and low-carb to nosh on when at work. At home its easier since I am usually running around and "skip" this snack.
