Default Dietary Dilemma

I've been LCing for 3 months and have been loving it, but the past two weeks my weight loss has stopped. Yes I have been measuring myself and yes I'm still loosing inches, but the actual weight loss has just kind of stopped. I realize that technically this isn't a stall, but this is the first time that my weight has come to a halt since I've began. I haven't really changed anything in the last 2 weeks. I still eat the same things and my carbs are staying about the same (30-40) each day.

I've been considering going back on induction to get things jump started again. What do you guys think? Or should I just wait this out for another week or two?

Thanks guys/ladies!

Hi Dennis

Congratulations on loosing 48 pounds in 3 months, that is some going. I'm not surprised that your body has called a short halt to its weight loss, it is probably trying to work out how to redistribute its fat around your body to keep things even. It has taken me a year and a half to get to your stage, so you can see how quickly you have progressed.

Just keep on doing what you have been doing. Do not go back to induction. You say your measurements are going down, so I expect that you are putting on more muscle weight at the moment and of course this weighs more.

I am sure that in the next week or two the pounds will begin to come off again. However, you only have 27 pounds left to loose and it is likely that they will go at a slower rate as your body becomes more reluctant to give up its fat stores the nearer to goal you become. Cutting back on carbs will not help speed this up, so just give it time and be patient.

I hope to be reading you are at goal in a few months and see your details in the success stories.

Thanks Anne.

I had kind of thought the same thing, but some times it is kind of nice to hear it from someone else.

I guess I hit a stall of sorts about 3 months into this also. I decided to track my food intake on Fitday for a few days to seem what my calories and ratios were. As you loose weight it makes sense that you will need less calories. I also stepped up the exercise length and intensity. I increased my water by about 25%. My weight started to move down again after that.

OK as of today I am no longer stuck at 222 I am 225. Yep, I gained 3 lbs. I really do think that this might be due to water retention and constipation. Over the weekend I drank way too much diet soda and little to no water. Yesterday I drank alot of water (its easier for me to drink water at work). I did cheat and measure myself (I normally do it every second thursday) and the inches are still coming off. I had also slacked off and not done cardio in about 6 days, but last night I got motivated again and got back on the treadmill.

You know I'm not really that bummed about my alleged stall. Some how the inches are coming off I'm feeling good (except for the water retention) and I'm feeling confident again.
