Default Hello.. newbie here.

Hey.. hows it going?

My name is Nick.. the board name Avengeance refers to my board name on a car enthusiest board I frequent, its a Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring board. Im REALLY into cars. Im a moderator/admin on that board actually so Im quite comfortable posting on a board like this.

Im 24 years old.. single father.. own a home in CA.. and live with my fiance. Since Ive met her Ive packed on about 40-50 lbs... used to be 160-170lbs with a good build. Now Im 200-210... I need to get back to the 170 cause if I dont do something now I see myself getting even heavier.

I started a journal.. great idea... I wasnt sure what to put in there but hopefully someone will help me out. I already posted one in there before I found this thread... sounded like a good idea so I went and did that first thing.

Im doing the Atkins diet cause I really enjoy meat, cheese, and veggies. I do miss my garlic bread though.... steak doesnt seem right w/o garlic bread. The fact that I dont drink regular soda to begin with helps too... I only do diet and have for a long time.. regular it tooooo sweet. I also work for Arrowhead water and get free bottled water which is nice for this diet too.

Anyways.. Ive been on the plan for 2-3 weeks.. lost 11-12lbs so far.. kinda hung up last week though cause I only lost 1-2lbs. Hopefully itll keep coming off.

Im off to post some newbie questions...

Welcome Avengeance!

Nick, it sounds like you are doing freat so far! I personally have never felt better than doing Atkins. I hope the same goes for you as well.

Yes, the bread is out, at least for now. After induction, you may want to find a low carb bread. Personally, I thought I would miss bread the most but I don't. You can still have lots of garlic with your steak. I almost always sautee mushrooms with lots of butter and garlic and pour that over my steak.

I am not really into cars but I have been to the races once at Sebring about 10 years ago. It was a blast!

Good luck and success on your weight loss journey!

Hello Nick, I'm Amber. Well you sound pretty situated so far. The water perk really sounds nice. I have water delivered to my home in the 5 gallon bottles and just love it. Your story sounds just like mine, except I met my BF and got hurt and packed on about 45 pounds myself. Your about where I am right now weight wise, I'm off LCing for another week or so, I just had surgery. I have a dodge stratus r/c and traded in a sebring to get that.
One thing I found out was that it is ALOT harder getting the weight off then putting it on. Especially in the winter months. I started with Atkins and had no problem sticking to it either I'm a meat and vegetable person anyhow. I hope you have continued success on your journey and hope to see you around. Good Luck!

Hi Nick you can start posting your menus here. It will let you keep track of what you eat (in case you have a stall). Then everyone can stop by and see if your doing any no- no's. Also a very good way of knowing how many carbs and calories you eat is to go to www.fitday.com. It will give you an accurate account of your daily intake. Hope thats a start for you. If you need anything else just post it. Thats one good thing about this forum, there is always plenty of help. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well.
