Question Ketostix in am?

HI guys- Sorry if I am posting too much! I am just so excited about the support on this site. I get on every day and am really encouraged. I have been doing ketostix right when I wake up in the am. It is always purple. My question is this: After an overnight 'fast' would everybody show up as being in Ketosis? Does this give a false reading? For those who have used these things, what time of day do you think gives the most reliable reading? I'm not obsessed but at five weeks into lo carbing it does give you a little boost to keep moving forward.
As always, THANKS!!!! Leslie

That is interesting. Most of the time when i check Ketones first thing in the morning. I have only trace amounts. But always after I get up and moving around the strips show dark pink to purple. You must be lucky.. Burning Ketones while you sleep... I don't.
Good Luck...

I use the keto sticks first thing in the morning...been doing this for 5 weeks and have consistently shown deep pink to purple. I just assumed you would do it in the morning. If it means burning fat at night that sounds good.

I rarely register anything in a.m. (as most will attest to) -- The best time to check is late afternoon/early evening.

I check at nite when I get home from work - I'm always in the medium range, in the a.m. it's only trace - I don't put too much credence in them anyway, my clothes tell me that I'm burning fat.

Have a great weekend.

Cool

Deep purple in the morning, usually dark pink in the afternoon. I try to do it before I eat something else, figuring less chance I'm seeing dietery fat produced Ketones. Some have suggested you get darker if you don't drink much water, but I drink ~200oz a day, so I take it as a good sign.

It doesn't matter when you test or what color the sticks are....you are either in ketosis..or you're not...there is no inbetween Those are supposed to be used once and awhile to make sure you're on track..not 10x a day...why torture yourself? I say throw the stupid stix out with the scale
