If you're using a bread machine to do the mixing and rising, then yes you need to use bread machine yeast. Regular yeast needs to be activated or "proofed" first, in water with a little sugar added .. or else it will not rise properly in the dough.
If you're making the bread by hand, you might find these instructions to be helpful .. It's the same recipe except it uses regular dry yeast, and rises and baked in regular oven.
