Default Kate?

I think we may need to send out a search party - I think we've lost her.....again.

WTG, Les - You'll be totalling up the inches lost soon. Can't wait to read the final results

Nat- I can't wait till the level 9 on my stationary bike doesn't attempt to kill me!!!!!!! I thought I was going to die this morning. Literally. (Thank goodness I quit smoking a month ago or I really MIGHT have died this morning!!)

And the pant-o-meter sounds like a much nicer method that silly old scale!

I STILL LOVE BODY FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah....Question: what do most of you do for your ab workout? I don't feel much when I do 12 crunches, then rest for a minute, then do 10, then rest for a minute, etc.......am I missing something? Should I hold a weight plate across my abs and increase the weights each time?

Ab work is new to me, so doing plain old crunches is proving to be effective for me so far! I have heard that doing decline sit ups with a weight is another way, there are lots of ab exercises that are more challenging. I think I read them all in Muscle & Fitness Hers recently.

Ab work is all about intensity. These are muscles that get worked a lot during the day and are comprised of fast twitch muscle fibers - they respond best to short intense workouts, rather than doing say 150 situps.

There is a great article in the general exercise forum on this that I'll dig up for you, it's by the ab-man himself, Shawn Phillips (Bill's handsome brother ) It took some practice, but I can honestly say that when I do 10 minutes of ab work it hurts to laugh the next day.

Back in a bit.
Nat

LOL!!! I have Shawn Phillips as my wallpaper on my computer as my inspiration. How beautiful is he? Although Bill is nice too, he doesn't do it for me.

I had a problem with my computer the other week and had to call the network admin to restore my previous settings from 2 days before- forgetting about my wallpaper. The whole office knew about my inspiration in less than 5 minutes.

OMG I can smell the estrogen in the air !!!

Pam, for the longest time I had the 5 pounds of fat vs 5 pounds of muscle pic as my wallpaper - you don't wanna know the looks that garnered. Right now it's Xel-ha, the snorkelling / dive spot near our resort!

Have a fantastic week next week all. See you when I get back!

Nat
