Smile end 1st week of induction down 8 lbs!

YAHOO! 1 week on induction & I'm down 8 lbs! So far so good! I am not hungry, as matter of fact I'm not all that interested in food at all!!????? Who would have thunk it? That's all I EVER use to think about. Maybe I have found an eating plan that I can actually stick with. I have given up pretty early in the game on most diets I tried in the past, so I am always hesitant to think I will be successful on the next one.
I do have a question: Do any of you sub decaf ice or hot tea, sweetened with Sweet-N-Low or Splenda, for any or all of your water intake? Do you think It would be OK to do so?

Hi Oleander...

Nice going so far!! This WOE is great...never boring, never leaves you hungry...and look at all the great foods we can finally have no guilt over!!

Sorry, but water has to be just plain ol' water... no subs. As much as you can drink, the better.

At this rate, you'll have no trouble getting to your first goal!!

Welcome, oleander.

My experience is like yours... never could stay on a "diet," but the atkins plan works very, very well for me. WELCOME!

I'm just not a fan of water.
AT ALL.
But I do understand that it really needs to be ALL water...nothing added.

So what's a girl to do?
I can't down a glass of water very easily, but I can go through a whole pitcher of Crystal Light Decaf Tea in under 2 hours.

So instead of going cold turkey, I'm weaning myself.
Each week, I put in less of the mix. I can still down it quickly. I'm to half-potency this week. Still getting lots of fluids in. So, of course, the goal is to be downing pure water in a few more weeks.

Did that make sense?

Water - pure water - is what it needs to be. But SOMETHING is better than NOTHING. And to get there, wean yourself there!

Wink

I'm new at this, too, so I don't know overly much about it, but I have juvenile diabetes and I drink a lot of no-carb sweetened teas, soft drinks, flavored waters, etc, and I know that the medical advice is not to substitute these for pure water. This is not to say that you shouldn't drink any of these things, but seeing as they don't provide you with the same health benefits of water, you should drink them sparingly in addition to water.

Good luck and I hope you have much success with this plan!
