You should not be afraid of insulin.
I'm trying very hard to convince my doctor to put me on insulin because I think it's maybe the most effective way to control blood sugars when done correctly (as stated by Dr. Bernstein).
At the beginning my worst fear was also insulin, but by researching and reading some advise from this forum I have changed my mind.
