I'm in kind of the same boat as you. I had a surgical menopause at 45. Since then, I have been able to lose weight. I did not take hormone replacement therapy because I had cancer. In fact, I had to take something that would block even more estrogen in my body. So I was told I would gain weight, but that hasn't happened. I really think the low carb helps. With HRT I think you won't find it too hard to lose weight especially on low carb.
