Hi,

Easy to go "overboard", isn't it? I (we) plan to go back to induction for a couple days. Then back to owl. I really didn't do that bad, just feel I need a jumpstart. My wife, well that's another story....

Good luck!

I vote for "induction for a few days," though it's not mandatory. It's good as a kickstart, like BrewWa said. It gets you psychologically back into the swing of things, and helps get you back onto fat-burning mode.

Good luck and happy new year.

Default Yeah, my vote is induction too...

and I will do it also. Mainly because it is what banishes my carb cravings and I tried to do it may way (hey, isn't that a song), and it didn't work. Couldn't stop the cravings...carbs not low enough.

Default Induction

My TOM hit me on Christmas day so I had a double wammy. I was pretty good but fell out of ketosis the day after Christmas. I went on induction ofr the next three days and I feel great. I'm really glad I did that. I feel back in control and like I've made up for my (minor) slip.

Hi to all the Washington State folks here! (I'm from the middle of the state!)

I did not go off plan for the holidays - but rather upped my owl carbs another notch and ate MORE of the legal food than I typically do. This strategy worked... in that I maintained through the holidays. Now I am reinducting for two weeks... to kick start my weight loss and to tone done my hunger level a bit.

Started reinducting on 12/26 and so far I am down 1 1/2 lbs and my appetite has gone way down again (yeah!)...

So... my vote based on my personal experience would be to reinduct. I think it sets the stage for you to ramp back through the OWL stages more successfully.

Default thanks for all the advice

thanks to all your input i have decided to reinduct. now my question is for how long. it sounds like all of you have just done it for a couple of days to "kick start" things. i hope that works because i was really not looking forward to going through the full two weeks or longer for a complete induction.

It's really not all that awful! I plan to do at least the full two weeks and may just stay on induction for the whole of January. Depends on how much weight I lose. I really want to get within 10 lbs of my goal before slowing way down again. I proved to myself over the holidays that I can manage to maintain ... so I just need to make a bigger dent in my total loss before I start "settling" in for the long haul of long term maintenance.
