Well, I'm going to disagree just a tiny bit here. In the book, Atkins recommends eating every six waking hours, regardless of hunger, to avoid binges like you mentioned. If you keep your blood sugars more normalized by smaller and more frequent meals, you're less likely to want six steaks at a sitting. A small low-carb snack is all that's needed sometimes, and this rule has helped me avoid getting so hungry that I over-eat on anything.
