Default TrainerDan: Does LBM help fat loss...??

Actually, the real question is more complicated than that:

Long story short----I can't seem to be able to keep my carbs low enough to lose BF AND maintain enough energy to get through workouts----or even brush my hair on most days! So, I've stopped "dieting" for now until I can figure out where to take this all. SO... to take advantage of NOT dieting I've been wondering if it's better to take this time to gain a little LBM then go back to the dieting later?? I mean, I know women have a difficult time gaining LBM, and I'm not shooting for arms like Arnold S. But I'm still wanting that lean and fit look-----more like Lori (or is it Lisa?) Braun. Okay, okay... so this 41yr old grandma of 3 wont look like her in the end, but you get the picture, right?

I could really use some advice here because I'm trying NOT to become bummed about not being able to find that balance of food and activity that allows me to lose weight and not feel like dooky all the time. I need a goal---or a few of them. They're the only things that keep me focused and determined not to give up.

Thanks in advance.

Talking not dieting doesnt mean you wont lose weight

Its a good idea to layoff the diet for a bite, i know i did and i lost 1 pound.

In fact that might help you.

Winter is coming so i rather eat a bit more and keep energy level up then always be sick.

I know i said that this week i am gonna do it 100%, but if i feel to week or washed out i am gonna up my calories a bit.

Keep us posted.

If you do gain bodymass i guess that you will lose fat faster, more muscles on you the more fatburning.

Good luck

I will try to respond in place of Trainer Dan. YES, LBM helps fat loss because per-pound of LBM you burn x amount of calories more (i knew x at one point), so muslce helps lose fat essentailly. Now, the question of you wanted to BULK to get more LBM, so then you could burn fat more efficiently, I am not sure if this is like chasing a rabbit in circles or not. Anyways, if you are feeling all tired like that, it probably is a good idea to chang something caus you dont' want to go on like that

ight then good luck

Your welcome in advance!

^_^

Without getting heavy into it, yes.

More LBM = more calories burned = faster metabolism

Hey girl - have you tried the TKD, yet? I was just wondering because you sound as exasperated as I was before I started one. I'm on week 2 (or is it 3?) and down 5 pounds. I feel great, too.

Hang in there!
