Default Chicken Wings

Wondering if the pre cooked chicken wings at the deli in the grocery store are ok to eat.

They have BBQ sauce already on them.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Seek

Not likely. BBQ sauce is usually loaded with sugar and carbs. Even the sauces like Teriyaki and sometimes even the hot wings have sugar in them.
It's usually best to buy your own uncooked wings and make them yourself. That way you know exactly what's in them (and ON them!).

Hi Seek,

Somewhere in DANDR, Dr Atkins said to avoid BBQ items unless it's sugar free. I doubt if the ones at the deli are :-(. Sorry, I love BBQ sauce myself, have to make it with a sugar substitute (haven't done it yet). We've been making lots of good salsas (tomato season).

There are some great hot wings recipes you can have!

Good Luck

Default Probably not a good idea to eat them

Since its already loaded with BBQ sauce and they're from the deli, they're probably loaded with carbs that ya don't even know about.

You could always make your own BBQ sauce or Atkinscenter.com has BBQ sauce for like 4 bucks.

TGIF's Buffalo wings - found in the freezer section of the grocery - are very low carb ( can't remember exact count - but it's *low*)

I think this is the only convenience item I've ever found that fits in with this WOE.

good luck - Terry

Default Hooters Wings

Anyone remember this discussion?

If there's a Hooters near you, you can order their wings "naked" and they won't put the breading on them. It generally takes more wings to fill you up but it's almost zero carbs.
