Smile Searching for advice

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some input about my situation? I'm 26, 5'3, 100 lbs. I am not looking to lose weight; however, any and all fat that is on my body goes directly to my thighs (not exagerating). I realize that it is not possible to spot reduce, so I decided to search for a plan that would allow me to lose some of the body fat I have. Is this possible to do without losing weight? I'm a "recovering vegitarian". I used to eat only carbs, but my weight has never fluctuated. I began to wonder if reducing my carb intake would help, and that is how I came to discover low carb dieting. Anywho, I found the Body For Life web site, and the exercise portion it makes a lot of sense. Do you think the BFL plan could help me in reducing my body fat, without causing me to lose weight? I appreciate any input!

Default I think so

If you build muscle you could lose fat and gain "muscle weight" at the same time. I couldn't guarantee you wouldn't lose weight, but more than likely you would also gain some muscle mass and weight from that.

Post Gaining Muscle

Hi!

Perhaps, if you tone up your thighs and build up the underlying muscle, you may not need to lose much fat to have fabulous thighs...

Here's the website of a guy in my Chicago BFL Yahoo group who built up muscle and cut fat and made a huge, majorly different-looking body
Steve Montefinesse

I also saw a small girl, Wanda, on Body Changers who went from 115 to 117 and has a WAY better-looking physique... Look how her thighs went from looking flabby to looking really toned
Body Changers - Wanda

On pages 120 - 122 of Body for Life there are instructions for those of you who want to gain muscle... And in the process of gaining, you will also burn an excess fat--if you have any...

You may also find direction and helpful hints from websites like
Hussman

I'm sure other people here, who have been at this longer than I have, can also give you some websites and ideas.

Good luck!

Trilbe

Thank you both for your replies, and thank you for the web sites, Trilbe! I'm gonna give it a go and order the BFL book.

Thumbs up Good Luck!

I'm sure you'll have great success!

I forgot to mention, in my earlier post, that most of the people on Body Changers are really nice and very helpful. I emailed Rosemary Harrington when I started BFL--because she started off with stats similar to mine. She was very nice, and emailed me back with some encouragement and words of wisdom. She has really helped to motivate me and inspire me to (literally) work my tush off.

Wanda's email is on the Body Changers site, and if you're looking for specific tips on how a small girl might transform herself, you might try emailing her to get some tips. The "tip" I received from (my transformation model) Rosemary Harrington were: to give the program 100% for 100% of the time, to believe in myself and to know that I can do anything I want to if I want to badly enough. It may sound like corny advice, but it kept me honest throughout Challenge One...

Good luck!

Trilbe
