Default The step

I have had good results with the step. If nothing else your legs get another type of muscle work from walking/jogging.
On the idea of "new" tapes.
Yes they do make NEW tapes from older tapes that focus on new ideas to cause muscle confusion. This is not a bad idea.
BUT they also do come out frequently with all new tapes.
This is what you are seeing on the infomercial
By the way I have never gotten a step from The Firm itself, but I did go out and by a rubbermaid took box that is 13-14 inches high, and I can put my tapes away in it.
Then it does double duty for me as something to stand on in the kitchen to get to the high shelves.
ANd HELLO AGAIN!

Like I said I do the super sculpting and the upper/lower body splits and I love them. I think some reasons the Firm has such a following are....1. they are straightforward - no bouncy, perky airhead flying around the room, these are no-nonsense women trainers 2. the exercises are simple 3. they work!

If I were you, Erin, I would go to www.collagevideo.com and check out the various tapes. For some reason when you type in the firm under instructor they don't come up but if go into 'type of workout' and put weight training or toning or whatever, you'll see them and from there you can pick a video, watch a few minutes of it and also go into the reviews. I find that extremely helpful. And except for the very new ones you will be hard pressed to find a Firm video that has NOT been purchased and previewed by many!
I'd say most of them are well worth your while. May be a little tough if you are a beginner, though!

I'm PoofieD's sister and she is the one that got me started on the firm. I have been doing it consistently the past 15 months with walking with Leslie as a way to increase my cardio workout so I can really focus on the weights. I don't have the new step but I have one that comes apart from a 4 inche step all the way to a 14 inche step with sizes in between every 2 inches. I like it alot. some people complain about having to take it apart and put it back together but it works for me.a novel notion
My favorite tape right now is super sculpting becaue you can really concentrate on your weight work. I don't have the new set, I don't want to buy the step when I already have what I need.
One difference withe fitprime is that they are focusing on using non dominant areas first to make them stronger. I dont' have any of their tapes yet either but I would like to sometime.
I work the firm 3 days a week to rest the muscles to see if that will help with muscle building instead of using them everyday. I found that doing them every day caused me to have muscle fatigue much quicker.

Hi everyone!

I just read this thread and am glad I did! I just got the new Firm stuff for my b-day (the one on the infomercial) and love it! I was concerned because I have been doing my own weight training full body three days a week and wondered if the firm would be as challenging......it is for me! I have Cardio Sculpt with Allie DelRio, Ab Sculpt with Lisa Kay, and Body Sculpt with Jennifer Carmen. I am assuming that these are new because you all haven't mentioned the names. I did the Lower half of body sculpt on tues., upper body of body sculpt and the abs tape on wed., and cardio sculpt yesterday.

I like the instructors, I like using the fanny lifter, and I like having the option of a few different videos. I really like having a video that is completely abs. This is an area that I really need to improve and need a good routine. I think I've found it in the abs sculpt.

Anyway, thanks for the info on the other tapes and the web sites!

Amber

Thumbs up Hi Amber

Yes.. those are very new tapes that you have. They are I believe Less than a year old.
You can also find alot of the people that do the firm or have done the firm at the forum at http://www.fitprime.com
A couple of the classic instructors are there at their forum.
I love The Firm tapes and as someone else mentioned they work well as they are very "serious" :-)
We are so glad to see you here!

Would like some input. Have a 30 day trial period so I will try to start and see if I like it and if it works.

Thumbs up I don't know what that is.. but..

My opinion is if its any sort of an exercise that affects building your muscles..it can only be good for you.
So I say go for it :-)
