Question Where did you guys get your BF calipers?

I have THE WORST luck finding things in Mississippi

Just spent the last hour calling every gym, sports store (yeah, like there's only one), walmart, kmart, walgreens, GNC, sears.....you name it, and NO ONE sells these things???

What I'm trying to do is get more a more accurate account from the CKD calculator for what I should be eating, etc., and I really need to do a BF check to get that...from what I understand.

I would love some suggestions about where to look for these things.

Thanks.

DO buy these:

http://www.exrx.net/Store/Other/SlimGuide.html

DO NOT buy these:

http://www.bodytrends.com/buycalip.htm

Why? The clicker thingy wears out really quickly and starts giving an exaggerated (to high side) measurement.

so what is better, the manual or digital?

Don't a lot of people have probs with the accuracy of digital calipers?

(sorry if I'm mistaken, I've never had any experience with these)

Meg

Are you referring to the digital bodyfat meter/scale, a-la Tanita? Yes, those are trash, since they are based on body water content, which varies wildly with dehydration on LC.

I don't know how the digital caliper is put together, but to me it's an unnecessary complication. More moving parts - more parts to break...

Digital calipers are accutate. I use the ones sold on Netrition. I find them more accurate than most otehr calipers, except for the Lange ones we use at the gym.
