Some sunshine moments of mine:

1. Giving away ALL of my fat clothes and finding room in my closet b/c I don't have 6 sizes of everything anymore.
2. Finding a WOL that I can live with FOREVER.
3. Not feeling like an oddity every time I walk into a room.
4. Being able to go places and not worry that I won't fit in any of the chairs that are there.
5. Finding out that exercise really isn't the torture I always thought it was.
6. Being able to do normal things like housework again.
7. Meeting some great people who are sharing this journey with me.
8. Finding my collar bones again.
9. Getting a Halloween costume 'off the rack'.
10. Feeling good again.

A small victory today for me -- a sunshine moment indeed.

I'm coming back from lunch (fajitas at a Mexican place, sans the tortillas and other bad stuff), and as I opened the door to the office, I noticed that my watch had rotated around on my wrist and its face was now the wrong direction. Besides the weight lost (which is only a number) the size of my wrist has shrunk to the point that I need my watch adjusted!

You couldn't have slapped the smile off my face.

I thought I would revive this thread with a story that I'm still smiling about today.

I went shopping for a new suit yesterday. I really wanted a pair of basic black wool pants. (Turns out they're really hard to find right now!) Anyway, I finally found the one store in the whole mall that did have black wool pants. I pulled out a pair of 18W slacks and the 20W jacket - and both were too big! I searched for the size 16s and couldn't find any. So I tried the 18s on again, just to be sure. Yup, still too big. The pants were 138 bucks and I really didn't want to spend that kind of money on pants that I would most likely wear only once (and didn't really fit). So I left and was going to head to another mall. Half way out, I changed my mind, and decided to get them even if they were too big. So I went back, grabbed them, and headed up to pay. On a whim, I asked the sales lady how big the misses sizes went to. It turns out that they had size 18 misses so I tried them on, totally not thinking they would fit but they did! So, the women's sizes were too big, I was actually able to buy a misses size! And they were 10 bucks cheaper!

How great is that? I think its funny that it never even occurred to me to check out the misses section. I bet I haven't done that in over 10 years!

Casey--that's a great story! My current sunshine moment was last week when I bought 3 new pairs of pants (sizes 24 and 22 instead of 30/32) and 3 new tops (size 14/15 instead of 22/24). Plus a new belt! Yup, I can wear the shirts tucked in--and they look good!

I'm going to revive this thread again because I've always loved it. I think it's great to celebrate some of the small successes on the journey. And, I definitely had a sunshine moment today.

I put my socks on while standing up.

Doesn't sound like much, I know, but I don't think that I've ever done that before. It used to be that I had to sit down to put my panties on. And I've seen other people put their socks on while standing up, but I could certainly never do it. But today I could.

My sunshine moment came a few evenings ago while brushing my teeth before bed. I noticed for the first time that my collar bone is out there for all the world to see. Now, I'm sure that it didn't sprout up just that day. When I finally did notice it though, it brought the biggest smile to my face.

Thank you for bringing this thread back, I had a little sunshine moment today. I opened up a carton of eggs and inside the lid it said "Good Morning Beautiful! Today is the day that the lord has made, Rejoyce and be glad in it." It really made me smile, I think I will make sure I buy those eggs all the time.

This is the coolest thread ever!

I had one this morning when I realized my watch was hanging down on my hand and not my wrist because my watch is big on me now…And I also put on a tank top I haven’t worn in about a year and it didn’t look disgusting and too tight- it actually fit and I looked good! yeah!

Talking Seat Belt Envy

I had a sunshine moment a couple of days ago, I left Wichita to visit my husband in WV, while I was on the flight to Dallas, I did NOT need a seat belt extender. On the flight to DC I did, but only for about 2-3 extra inches. I am looking forward to the day when I will never use seat belt extenders on flights again! HAPPY EASTER!!

I like this thread!

My fave store was having a sale on clothes, cute, trendy stuff. I'm losing relatively rapidly, so I decided to buy some summer stuff while I could still get it. Clothes cycle out of "summer" much more quickly than warm weather arrives in Michigan. So, I took a gamble, stares at my size 4x and 5x stuff and decided to buy some 2x; surely I could wear that by June or July...

... Except I can already wear it! It's not tight, although it does follow the body nicely. Such a change from my too-big, let's make sure we still look fat, clothes I'm wearing now.

The skirts are still a bit snug, but then again, I'm not sure light cotton skirts are appropriate yet.

It felt good. The SO was very happy for me also; that NEVER hurts!

I know its not a big deal but usualy right after I take my jeans out of the dryer they are very tight for a few hours but today they zipped right up and were comfortable right away! I felt great all day! This is just a little thing but it made me feel like a million bucks!

bringing my 4 year old to the park and running and playing with him instead of watching for the park bench...

then the next day my mom offers to bring my son, and he looks at her then at me and says no thanks Meme, I'd rather go with Momma she's fun now :-)

tear...yep i cried...makes everything worth it.

This is a awsome thread. My sunshine moment was this morning as I was walking my dog.I have had him for a few years and we never really walked on a regular basis. We have now been walking every day for a few weeks......this morning was different though. We were walking a steady pace in the park and my dog kinda slowed down for a bit..I realized he had spotted a few rabbits&ducks...well we both just stood there watching.....it was kind of cute and made me realize just what we had been missing out on by not going for walks.I even noticed sometimes as we walk he will stop just to smell the flowers.I thought to myself how often do we get sooo busy in life that we dont "stop to smell the flowers".........The rest of our walk this morning we kind of took it slow and paid attention to everything mother nature had to offer
