I'm a purist. I say no. Eating treats was probably a contributing factor to why you're here -- if you simply replace your current treats with sugar free treats, it's likely you'll eat far too many of them (especially considering you have a sizeable stash, from the sounds of it, to dispose of already), and you're not going to make the progress you're hoping to. It's entirely your prerogative, of course, but I know I won't be the one to tell you it's okay -- I don't believe it is.

I dont know about the new book, but Atkins old book there are some recipies for treats if you really need to have them....Plus doesnt vitamin B complex balanced, help with sugar cravings?
When I need a sweet fix..I have decaf tea or coffee with whipping cream, and low carb sweetner....I think you can have low carb jello too.

Thumbs up Developed Perspective On Fo-Sugars & Our Collective Effort

I will agree that some of us can eat certain things others can not and remain on target in terms of Induction, however I am also certain that many of us can not eat Malitol, A-bars and similair products and stay on point.

When you are starting Atkins it is very tough to weed through the dos and the don't and the risk of disapointment and failure is just to great. Therefore to be CERTAIN, and to actually not fail at yet another diet, I think it is way better to stick to the meat, eggs and veggies. EVERYONE will loose with that combination, the converse to that is not true for EVERYONE.

It is very important that "newbies" get some level of success, for motivational purposes. That is why I think we should all stick to the basics until we know what we can and can not put into our individual bodys.

Have a great week end!

Cheers
