Smile Looking For Feedback...

Hi-

If any of the more experienced LCers are willing to look at my FitDay log and give me some feedback, I would be very appreciative.

Wow it seems you are doing very well. Everyday you are doing great with low carbing. The thing that suprised me was that Cashew nuts, roasted (assume salted) 1 cup was 37 carbs! Anyway keep it up!

Is there a reason people have stopped answering me? Have I become that much of a pain in the butt?
Sorry if I am a bother, but I really need to do this right...

Hi Michelle!

Overall, it looks like you're doing pretty well. Watch out for nuts (I see you already found that out!), some of them are much higher in carbs than others. Also, don't forget to deduct the fiber from your total carb count every day. Those 37 grams of carb from the cashews come out more like 33 when the fiber is deducted (still high, but not terrible) and are you sure you really ate an entire cup of them? A serving of nuts is usually about 1/4 cup at a time. All in all...looks like you're following the program pretty well. Keep it up!

Thank you for the feedback!
I am not POSITIVE about the nuts. It was the serving I got at the ballpark, in a little bag. I am a horrible estimator but I would rather go over than less!
Thanks again, I am in a little stall, and I just can't figure it out...

What do you mean by "little stall"?

How long has it been since you've seen a loss on the scale?

Have you been measuring? When was the last time you saw a loss there?

Hi Teri...
It has been 2 weeks since i have seen a loss, but I have also had my TOM. If I don't see a chang this Friday, then I will panic.
I dont measure...never did actually...is this bad?
Are you onto something with these questions? Do you have thoughts for me?

You're lucky you haven't gained 2-3 pounds with TOM.... so no loss is actually quite good!!

And what will it accomplish by panicing? There's no need to panic! You've stuck to the plan and if you've learned anything on this board, it is that weight loss doesn't happen in a straight line downward....you may "stall" for 2,3,4 weeks or more and then suddenly lose 3, 4 or 5 pounds in one week. This is very normal and something you need to get used to... I haven't lost anything since mid-June....I'm not panicing....but I am tweaking! If you set your expectations too high (like losing X pounds per week) and then your body doesn't meet those expectations, you set yourself up for failure and "giving up." Then you'll be right back where you started. PATIENCE!!!

Measure today and then once a month, right after TOM. Sometimes you'll have inches lost even when there's no scale loss ... and this will keep you motivated.

Did you read the Hot Links thread???

Well Teridoodle has pretty much said it all, but I'm throwing in my 2 cents anyway... You have nothing to worry about. I haven't seen a loss for about 3 weeks! No need to panic though!

I actually haven't been measuring, but I can tell by how the clothes fit on me. Anyway in the end I just want to say, there is nothing to be worring about. Just don't give up!

Talking Thanks Again!

Teri-
I wont panic, although it will be hard not to get frustrated. I need my "whoosh fairy"
I have been on plan less than a month, it is still normal to have stalls?
The only thing I can think of to tweak woulf be aspartame. Diet soda, crystal light, etc Could that really be making such an impact? I was planning on finishing up what I have then buying Diet Rite or something along those lines. I dont have money to waste so I was going to finish my sodas and equal packets, then move on. Will this be ok?
I dont have a tape measure. I will have to put that on my shopping list. I have an idea to get my measurements today though.
I have started to go through the hot links. I havent finished all of them because there is so much, but I have been reading every day.
Thanks for all your advice.

SooCee- Thanks for your help! My body image is so screwed up...the tape may help. I have seen a little change in my clothes, but not much.

~Michelle

Yes, actually a stall in weeks 3-4 is VERY normal. Hang tough. I don't think there's any need for you to start tweaking just yet.

It's always advised to get off of artificial sweeteners, especially in diet colas (because they also contain sodium and caffeine and people tend to drink too many of them). They also trigger carb cravings in some people. I, however, have not eliminated artificial sweeteners yet....that'll be the last thing to go! I don't think they cause me problems and I also use them quite sparingly...usually no more than 2-3 packets a day.

Thanks for the advice Teri...you are the best!

When "should" I start thinking I need to tweak?

When you've *truly* stalled.... that means no scale loss and no inches lost for 4 weeks or more. OK? OK.
