Default Question about Bean Thread Vermicelli

Okay... I have a package of Bean Thread Vermicelli which says it's ingredients are Mung Bean and Water. They are DRIED, wrapped in individual bundles and have the following nutritional information:

Serving Size: 11 pieces
Servings per package: 4

Calories: 16
Total Fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 0g
Sodium: 6g
Total Carbohydrate: 2g
Dietary Fiber: 2g
Sugars: 0g
Protein: 2g

Could this be correct? This package is made in China and before I try them I want to be absolutely sure that this isn't a TYPO!
I cannot find any nutritional information on them via the Internet.
HELP!

Thanks!
Heather

This is from our own carbohydrate counter at the top of the page under Low-Carb Tools. As I recall, one of the tiny bags is under 30 grams in weight.

Noodles, Chinese, Cellophane (Mung Beans)

For 100 grams:

Total Carbohydrates 86.10 g
Dietary Fiber 0.50 g
Total Protein 0.16 g
Total Calories 351.00
Total Fat 0.06 g

I used to love the texture of these noodles before I changed my WOE.

I just happen to have a package of these in my pantry. There were 8 individual bundles to make up the 400g pkg .. so 50g each. I weighed one of the bundles on my handy dandy digital scale to be sure, and close enough, 49g.

From WholeHealth MD:
Quote:
Bean thread noodles:

Made from mung bean flour, these semitranslucent noodles turn clear when cooked, and often are called cellophane noodles or glass noodles. They can be quickly stir-fried or braised with other ingredients. The noodles are nearly pure starch, containing almost no protein, vitamins, or minerals (other than iron)
While they're definitely not suited for a low-carb diet, bean thread noodles are a useful substitute for persons with wheat or gluten intolerance.

Thank you both so much for answering my question. What a pity, huh?! I knew that the information on the package couldn't be correct, or everyone in here would be eating these in place of noodles, pasta or otherwise!! Sorry for getting it in the wrong category!!

Many thanks again!!

Heather
