Post A question on cheese, please

Why does ricotta have so many carbs per serving? I am new to eating this cheese and I was shocked when I looked up it's carb content versus other cheeses I consume.

Thank you very much,
Julie

Was it the skim milk/fat free kind? Fat-reduced stuff usually has more carbs - they have to replace it with something. Or, when you looked it up, was it an unusually large portion? On fitday.com, they have regular ricotta listed at 2.5 g of carbs for a 1/4 cup serving. Not too bad.

Default Thx

It was the full fat kind. It's just that in relation to mozzarella, it seemed high.

Thank you for your response.

Julie
