Lightbulb Newbie needs help not losing weight! Wondering what to do!

Hi,

I started the Atkins Diet one week ago and it seem that I have not lost much weight. Probably only about 1 pound. I need some help. I am following the directions he has given us in the book and it is just not working like I would have hoped. I need to lose about 30 pounds but at this rate it will never come off.

Please let me know what you guys are thinking please!

Give us an example of what you are eating and drinking in a typical day. Unforunately not everyone loses at the same rate, but we will be glad to help you critique your meals to see if there might be anything you missed!

the initial induction weight loss is mostly water, which comes as glycogen stores get depleted. Drink at least 100 fluid ounces of water every day (not diet pop, not tea, not coffee!), and drinking water will keep your body from holding onto the excess water in your tissues.

As Talon says, it would be good to see what you're eating. Avoid shakes, Atkins Bars, artificial sugar and other fake foods.

HTH!

Serzwick,

In addition to journaling all your food, supplements, and water, so we can help you...what is happening to you is normal. Not everyone loses at a constant rate. I had exactly the same experience the first week and a half of my LCing. I found that by the end of the second week I had a huge whoosh though. All the sudden six pund disolved. The morial of the story...don't weigh every day and give your body a chance to adjust (in addition to checking out what you are eating, drinking, etc). Your time will come! I hope you see your results soon. Happy LCing.

Betsy
