I think that is based on how much one has to lose.

Rule of thumb is 10 percent in the first two weeks then 5 percent a month.

Of course it really depends on age, and past dieting habits. I know it is useful and interesting information to find out how everyone else has done.... But don't get too caught up on comparing your rate of loss to others. I personally lost 35 pounds in two months. Then didn't lose a single pound for 8 months, which I attributed to my body playing catch up.

If you happen to lose at a slower rate than say someone else then you begin to think you are doing something wrong or the diet isn't working. Which neither could apply at all.

The answer is probably in Atkins DANDR book. He does have some incredible success stories in there! I haven't seen the likes of them here.... but he's in the business of selling books and converting people to a healthier lifestyle. (It's working!)

Probably the greatest loss I've read about is about the same as Agonycat's .... 35 lbs in two months....in that range. There may be higher numbers for those folks who have 100+ lbs to lose.

Well I was able to lose 20lbs my first month...and have slowed down to just 1 lb this week. (However, the reason I think I slowed down was because I was in a car accident and hurt my leg, so I have not been able to exercise like I was)

Once I start exercising again, I am hoping to lose about 2 - 3 lbs a week.

The first month of LC I lost 22 lbs. Since then, it ranges anywhere from 5-12 lbs. a month.

Hi,

I lost about 16 - 18lbs in the first month, 10lbs of that was within the first 10 days, then I've averaged out about 1lb per week, sometimes more sometimes no loss at all in a week but it averages out!

Hope this helps
