Default Keto Shakes

Hi everyone: I'm contemplating ordering Keto Shake but am kind of leary - I want to cut out cheese in the morning for a while (I eat that for breakfast) and switch to having a shake. The stats are below:

Fat (as high oleic sunflower oil) 9 g
Saturated fat 0.9 g
Polyunsaturated fat 0.9 g
Monounsaturated fat 07.2 g
Total carbohydrates 1.5 - 3 g
Dietary fiber (as xanthan gum) 0.5 g
Other carbohydrates 1.1 - 2.8 g
Protein 24 g
Vitamin A 2000 IU
Vitamin C 60 mg
Vitamin D 200 IU
Vitamin E 30 IU
Vitamin K 40 mcg
Thiamine 1.5 mg
Niacin 20 mg
Vitamin B-6 4 mg
Folic Acid 200 mcg
Vitamin B-12 6 mcg
Pantothenic acid 10 mg
Calcium 640 mg
Phosphorus 315 mg
Iodine 60 mcg
Magnesium 168 mg 42%
Zinc 5 mg
Selenium 30 mcg
Copper 0.8 mg
Manganese 1 mg
Chromium 50 mcg
Molybdenum 80 mcg
Chloride 90 mg
Sodium 160 mg
Potassium 315 mg
Glutamine peptides 600 mg
Choline 80 mg

Do you think this is okay to add to my daily food intake?
What do you mix with it?
I don't want to spend the money, like I did with Atkins Bake Mix and never use it

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks.

Default keto shakes

Hi there!

while I've never tried the keto shakes, my best suggestion is purchase the product from a retailer that WILL take returns on sports products. I had to go to 3 local stores till I found one, but when I did not only did I get what I needed, but with a lot of advise from the owner, also.

I think it's always a great idea to add a shake. The protein in most of the shakes are readily absorbed in your body!

good luck to you
regards,
brenda

Thanks brenda - I'm going to my local health food store tonight - the woman who runs it is extremely knowledgeable, I buy all of my vitamins there. Just one question, what do I drink it with, we can't mix it with milk because of the carb count, or juice - I can't imagine real cream or water???

no problem...

sometimes I use Designer Whey, vanilla flavor and mix 2 scoops with 1/4 cup full fat yogurt and a cup of milk with a packet of splenda. The yogurt has a lot of benefits health wise and theory is that alot of the carbs are actually eaten up by the live culture bacteria.

sometimes I use the ready made myoplex lo carb drinks. i'm trying to get away from these 1. because of the cost, and 2 because i think there are much better products out there. eas (myoplex) uses a lot of very inexpensive ingredients, so to me that says they may not be totally everything they say they are.

i just started using Complete Protein Shakes which i mix in the blender w/ water and ice. these seem to be extreamly sweet.

so, that's my story on protein drinks. imho soy's are too grainy.

Hi Vikki!

The Keto shakes are mixed with water and are probably the best tasting that I've tried yet (love the orange cream one!). You could also try adding a few ounces of cream to them to get the calories up a bit...200 calories for a meal isn't much. I only use them when I'm really in a rush to get out the door and don't have time to cook eggs. Even then, I'm often more inclined to grab some meat from the night before instead. They do make a good snack, though.

Lisa, thanks for the feedback on Keto Shakes, the orange cream appealed to me too. I went to the health food store last night and the variety was dismal, so I'm going to give the Keto Shake a try - they are the same price anyway as in the store. I don't want to use them all the time, like you, just when I'm rushed, plus it's nice to drink something besides water and herbal tea.

Default Not ordering Shakes

Does anyone know where I can buy Keto Shakes here in Toronto? I just went on the website to order them and one tin is $12.95 US (about $18.50 CDN) + $9.95 US for shipping - I thought they were the same price as other shakes bought at health food stores, but with the exchange and shipping - no thanks.

Regarding the Keto shakes. I have found one named Keto Slim by Nature's Plus that is really good with a couple of strawberries and few drops of Stevia. It is somewhat expensive though. The health food store's price was $22.95 but you could probably get it cheaper through Vitamins Plus stores. They sell the individual packets so you do not have to buy the whole can to see if you like them. The chocolate are pretty good but I have not tried the strawberry. Good luck with finding one you enjoy.

Post Website to order Keto Shakes

I order Keto Shakes from the following website:
http://healthierways.com
Not sure the cost to ship outside of the US, but within the US, it's pretty reasonable. The shakes are $12.95 US dollars for a can of 11 servings.
I have found them to be the best tasting. I like the Peaches & Cream, Capuccino, and Choc Peanut Butter, but they are all pretty good.
Hope this helps.
