Cool Great news!

Thanks Rustpot,

Boy, am I glad to hear that Guiness has so few carbs! DH and I love it.

And your directions brought back some lovely memories of our trip to Ireland a couple of years ago. But you forgot to add the part about enjoying your pint in the company of the friendly and charming residents. We were made to feel welcome in pubs all over the incredibly beautiful country and enjoyed we our trip tremendously.

There's a small village in the hills of southern Italy - Vallo della Lucania - and tucked away to the side of its main piazza under ancient arches, cool and dark from the afternoon sun, is a small bar called "Il Guinness" run by a nice Italian bloke who imports the genuine article direct in barrels from Dublin. My hubbie believes this place to be heaven. (My dad was Italian & we now own the family home out there but only get to visit once or twice a year.) Don't drink it myself...... iron filings in cream.......... hubbie thinks I'm a Philistine when it comes to Guiness...... Horses for courses I s'pose.

Great to hear that Karla... but I also have to add how we take our yearly Holiday in Amherst MA (Mom is american, teaches in UMASS), and enjoy similar hospitalities and welcomes there!
Doods.
