Default When u exercise, whats the first line of fuel ??

Hi,

can i ask :

if u took lunch which has 50g of carbo (calp diet).
then u go for a 30 min walk.

do you burn off this 50g carbo ??
then start buring fat ??

does it mean that daily exercise WILL burn off the carbo ??
and ensure that there's no fat stored from the carbo ingested everyday ??

is the body's first preference of fuel carbohydrates ??

Yes, Cloe. The body will first use carbs in the form of muscle glycogen and food recently eaten, and then move on to stored body fat and or recently eaten fat. This is why it's best to exercise on an empty stomach. 50g of carbs, however, isnt much. Also, keep in mind that for those of us following a LC WOL our muscle glycogen gets depleted during the first few days of LCing - making fat a primary source of fuel.

Just to clarify for anyone who may not be familiar with CALP, most CALP'ers have their balanced Reward Meal at dinner and eat a low carb breakfast and lunch.
