Default Low Water intake while on Vacation

Hi Folks,

I hope everyone is doing well . . . . . . .

I just have a quick question regarding the effects of not drinking adequate amounts of water for a few weeks.

I will be travelling on vacation for two weeks, long airline flight (NJ to San Fran) and lots of sightseeing and day touring.

I will not be able to drink water like I have been (I'm really good at THAT part of the Atkins, at least, drinking about 2 gallons a day) It's not that I won't be able to GET water, I just don't want to spend my entire vacation scoping out the bathroom situation (I must have the world's tiniest bladder)

What do you speculate the affects of this to be ? I'm not so much worried about weight LOSS during that time, but I don't want to GAIN anything because I am not drinking enough . . . . nor do I want to have any ill effect on my kidneys because I intend to eat Atkins-style while on the vaca (minus the water)

Any experiences to share ? Suggestions ?

THanks, as always, this is the most phenomenal group of people I've ever encountered online.

Cheers !

Lisa

Post Water intake...

I can't address the scientific part of your question, but I'm sure some of our fellow readers will...

...but you can probably reduce your water intake during the times you're touring and such without harming your weight loss. You might consider making up as much as you can in the later partof the day or possibly some extra after dinner. It may cause some extra trips to the bathroom during the night, but if you're truly worried about it, it may be worth trying.

Have a great vacation!

Donald

Excellent ideas, Donald!

Lisa, no matter what, and especially since you will be very active most days, you should get in at least 100 oz. You may experience fatigue and headaches if you don't....and that doesn't sound like a fun way to spend your vacation either!!

Have a great time!

Thanks for the great ideas. I hadn't really thought of trying to get most of it in at night. That way I can use the BR as much as I want in the hotel room.

I definitely don't want headaches and fatigue ! Especially on my wedding night (don't think a headache would go over too well with new hubby !

Even my wedding night meal is going to be low-carb so I think I will be set, as long as I can get the water in . . . . .

And oops, did I mention I am getting married at a vineyard in Napa ? Wine country; Atkins WOL nightmare ! Oh well . . . .

Thanks so much guys, and best of luck to you both !

Regards,
Lisa
