Default How do I set a goal

Hey Guys!

Well today is an odd day. I was looking at all the weight I have lost and looked at the goal I had set. I set it to 200 pounds. Feeling as though that is still a million miles away.. But, very happy with the progress that I have had! But, I am not not really all that sure about how to draw the line about were I should start the maintiance part of the diet. I know that I at the very least want to get down to around 250. That is where I want to be right now. But, I am not sure if that will change any ideas at all. Help please! How do I draw the line at were to stop trying to loss weight?

I put a 150 lbs down as my goal weight. The Atkins books said 128. My doctor said 114. I figure I will know when I look good and feel good and that is where I will stop. However, right now I don't think I have to worry about stopping anytime soon!

Saliena just keep your goal to where you have it right now and when you've reached that goal decide how you feel and set your next goal...I know myself when I reached 142 pounds last year (gained weight back because of illness) I looked great... And I'm only 5'2".. but because my weight was distributed evenly you couldn't even tell I weighed that...

I would say that once you start to feel better and comfortable that you can revert to the maintenance. But I would keep your goal the way that it is at 250. What I have found easier is to set short term goals rather than long term. When I originally started I said that I wanted to lose 10lbs. Once I reached the 10 I set it at 20lbs and so on. My goal now is to reach weight loss of 40lbs and I am 4 lbs away from that. I think looking at in a small picture is better than looking at it as having 24lbs to go. Try that and see how that works for you.
