High Fat/Low Carb/Low Protein - anyone tried this?
Hello all,
Haven't posted for a while but I thought I'd try to get some opinions from you good folks .
I'm restarting LC in a week and I've been toying with the idea of shifting my percentages in terms of food to do a more high fat/lc diet.
NOTE: This is NOT Banta. I'm aware of the grief they've caused this board and I object to their capitalist, money-hungry tactics anyway . This is my own diet sparked from what I read on some other boards from people who have upped their fat intake and also from having done a fat fast a few months ago and doing well on it (until I got sick - no relation to the fat fast!)
Anyway, I'm thinking of doing about 85% fat and 15% carbs and proteins combined a day, keeping the carbs to lower than 30 (20 if I can do it). Also, I don't intend on doing a big bacon/sausage pig out - I'm trying to keep the food as natural as possible and to stay away from processed foods and frankenfoods and limit my sweeteners. I know I'll probably be eating a lot of calories (not like the restriction of the fat fast) but I don't plan on going overboard.
I was curious if others have tired to up their fat intake and what results you had. I'm still a bit nervous about doing this, even though I've been low carbing for a while (and I dug up Doreen's fabulous explanation on why fat does not make you fat and printed it out for moral support )
Any thoughts?
Tam
