Default Spinach Label incorrect?

After seeing how great spinach was on carbs here on the forum I picked some baby spinach up. But when I checked the label it said that it had 7 grams of carbs for half the bag and 7 undigestible. So it seems that it cancels each other out. Is this correct? The counts on fitday and the counter here show more carbs.

Either way, I'll be getting a lot of use out of Spinach from now on, but I want to know if I should count anything.

It's nice that there's something like this, as you can add nuts, or lemon juice, etc.. for that day since it's such low carbs. Should I still be trying to get to 20 carbs for the day if I eat spinach? Obviously by adding other carbs as it would be a lot of spinach to get to 20.

Thanks,

Mike

The only thing I saw was the label on the back of the package. It said it was 7 gram total carbs for half a bag, and 7 fiber grams for same serving.

So I was wondering about the descrepency. Is the label wrong? Is it because it's "Baby Spinach". Is it just that the label is not precise enough and they round to the closest whole number?

How many calories in half a bag? And what are the counts for fat and protein?

You can calculate roughly how many calories are from fat by multiplying the fat grams x 9. Then calculate the calories from protein by multiplying protein grams x 4. Subtract these two results from the total calories per serving. The remainder is the number of calories that come from carbohydrates. Divide this number by 4, and you will have a fairly close idea how many grams of digestible or effective carb is in the food.

I'm with you Mike. I LOVE my spinach on this WOE. I usually eat my sauteed in garlic butter and I usually cook up 4 cups (raw) at a time. For me, it's a quick easy way to get in my veggie carbs and it doesn't have too much bulk. I have to eat more food than I really want to.
