Cruelty to animals!!! Don't do it
In fact should PEOPLE be eating this stuff??? I did a search; here's the list of ingredients for Atkins Bakemix: - Ingredients: soy protein isolate, soy flour, glucono delta lactone, potassium bicarbonate, sodium phosphate, oat fiber, Litesse, potassium chloride.
The manufacturer claims that Litesse is "a type of carbohydrate that the body minimally absorbs, giving you all the baking benefits of conventional flour with very little impact on blood sugar level." Oh me oh my ... sounds like a sugar alcohol/hidden carb to me!!!! I'll do more sleuthing on that one, and post later!
Now, I wondered what the heck is "glucono delta lactone"? A quick search reveals that this glycerine-like carbohydrate is derived from dairy .. AND IT IS ONE OF THE INGREDIENTS IN K-Y JELLYCaveat Emptor
