Default giving blood

I just started with Atkins yesterday and I am feeling very good. I do not have any of the potential side effects from LCing. But I am scheduled to give blood tonight, something that I do regularly, and am curious if I should be aware of any problems with giving at this stage.
I am drinking plent of water and have a a few LC snacks for before and after the donation.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks
Chris

hi CAINNE,

You should be fine; make sure to stay well-hydrated, which you are doing ... and make sure also that those LC snacks contain protein. Some jerky, hard-boiled eggs, cheese etc. Avoid having any caffeine today .. coffee or tea .. since the caffeine will have diuretic effect, and you want to avoid being dehydrated before you even get to the clinic.

We had a discussion a while back regarding blood donation, and issues about anemia and iron. You might be interested to check that out here.

Good luck to you

Doreen

Chris, the water is the most important aspect of giving blood - you'll need some afterward. Giving blood is actually a very good idea - it's something the Eades recommend we all do in "Protein Power Lifeplan" to stay healthy (excessive amounts of stored iron - ferritin - has been linked to heart attacks.)

Thanks for the input. I will keep drinking and keep giving!
