Angry ~#%&! Planters plain peanuts

I have to vent: In the past I've been able to get a packet of Planters plain, salted peanuts out of the vending machine at work without going out of ketosis. Yesterday I bought them and immediately noticed that the peanuts inside have a new appearance. I ate a handful. Sweet. So I checked the label. Sure enough, sugar.

I was stupid enough (and hungry enough) to eat them anyway. And I couldn't get any color on that ketostick last night. ARRGG! I know others have inconsistencies with ketostix, but they work consistently for me. It'll take me a week of near induction levels to get back.

Mind you, these are not the honey-roasted variety, these are labeled as plain, salted peanuts! I've been buying these since June, same packaging. Now they come sugared.

Shame on Planters for adding yet more sugar to the North American diet!

(I'm finished venting now. )

Allison

Does anyone know who owns Planters? It couldn't be Phillip Morris could it? The same people who added sugar to velveta cheese?

Believe it or not, try www.planters.com ... and AFTER venting at the Contact US link, have a look around, like the Nutrition Info link...

No, it's not Phillip Morris, but I'm sure that's where Planters got the idea from.

Phillip Morris has a fine family of addictive substance companies. I think they sneak nicotine into everything.

And in case you didn't see may previous rant on the subject, they own SF Jell-o!
