Thursday:

Bench Press: 10~20lbs.
Leg Extension: 20~20lbs.
Pull Down: 20~40lbs.
Pull Towards Abdomen: 20~40lbs.

Treadmill: 1.34 miles/30 min.
Eliptical: .30/5 min.

I am working my routine up a bit. I have added the bench press for the first time today and it was easier for me than I thought it would be. Next week I will be ready to go up another 10 pounds on my other weight routines. I am frustrated with the bench press/ shoulder press machine because for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the seat position changed on it. The other machine, I can change just fine. I hate to feel dumb!

I am also adding the eliptical to my regular routine, I think I am ready now. Being fat and 48 isn't easy, but I am amazed at how far I have come in six months. When I first started, I could hardly walk around my block. I feel great!

I did a lovely 3-mile, about one hour walk up the Wekiva Trail. It was wonderful because it is finally cooling down enough in Florida so that if you get out in the morning, it is quite pleasant. I heard great bird songs, many of the migrating birds are returning now for the Winter. They are smart - they don't come back until the hurricanes are gone!

I want to really work on my hiking and distance this winter. I did a 7-mile hike in a wilderness area once, and now with it cooling down, I am back at it. I have a few hikes scheduled with the hiking club later this month. I love that!

I got very stiff last week for some reason and with all the stress going on I ended up taking five days off my exercise. Not a good thing! Today I got back to it and am working to do my 5-days a week thing . Gotta keep moving!

Thursday:

Treadmill: 1.91 miles/40 min.

I skipped my weights this time . Oops.

I got a really bad cramp in my lower abdomen this morning so had to quit early. Catherine's surgery is tomorrow so I am happy that I at least attempted something. Will work more with it this week . I feel good and my clothes are falling off.

Friday:

I had a good 45 minute hike in the Sable Point Sanctuary. I hadn't been there since the last hurricane and the trees down were amazing to see. It is wonderful this time of the year - no mosquitos! My right knee has been very sore this week when I stand up or sit down or drive. Walking on it seems fine. It felt good to work it some today after resting it.

Wednesday:

Treadmill: 1.30 miles/30 minutes

I did a relaxed session today as I am experiencing some pain in my hips. This is discouraging and I don't know what it would be caused by. Maybe I will ask in the exercise forum. It is definitely muscular. If you put your hands on your hips and go down about four inches that is where it is but it radiates all the way around, as if I were wearing a tire that hurts....... Mostly on the left side, but some on the right side as well. My knees have been a bit sore too and these things are odd because I had not been experiencing this discomfort earlier in the year .

Pull Down: 20~40lbs.
Pull Towards Abdomen: 20~40lbs.

Treadmill: 1.40 miles/30 min.

I skipped the leg extensions because when I tried it, my right knee just screamed. I don't know what I did to my hips and knees but SOMETHING. Oh well, easy does it but keep going! I am much more pleased with how I look sideways in the dreadful room length mirror in the exercise center. Why do they put mirrors there anyway?

Saturday:

I took a two-hour hike in Wekiwa Springs Park and it was lovely! I wrote more about it in my journal. I am guessing it was about five miles.

Let's keep moving through the holidays!
