Unhappy Is it possible?

Ok, I don't talk with a large group of people from this forum so I decided to post this in the support forum rather than my journal.

I started out at 310 pounds and have lost 75 - which puts me at 235 pounds. It's an awesome feeling...yet I want to lose about 65 more pounds and get down to around 170 pounds... is that possible?

My mother seems to think my goal is unrealistic. I'm 5'11", 235 pounds and have been on Atkins for almost eight months... please let me know.

Thanks all!
Toni

Wow! You are TALL, hon! I wish I were that tall! I don't think 175 is unreasonable at all. You'll have to see how you feel as you continue to lose.

Totally safe, just keep going and your body will even out wherever you ask it to. What counts is you being comfortable, if you think loosing some more pounds would make you a happier person then go for it!

Completely doable. It's a nice, healthy weight for your height.

Yeah, 170ish is possible. But, the main indicator will be how YOU feel as you lose weight..

Have a good one!

Beware peaople (even loving family folk) who declare that you are getting too thin etc etc..... (When you feel fine and are happy, of course. If you weighed 90 lbs, I'd agree with them!!!) It's sad but true that people are probably intimidated by your weight loss. I don't know your situation, but I know that acquaintances of mine feel superior to their heavier relatives and use it as a power thing. Just keep doing what makes YOU happy.

Thanks for all of the replies... as for saying that it's up to me if that's a good weight... I think it would be. For being as tall as I am and big boned (thank the lord) that may be as far as I want to go.
